Coordinated with the Consumer Technology Association (organizer of the renowned Consumer Electronic Show), the IRTS Faculty Industry Seminar focused on “Media Insiders: Today’s Opportunities and Tomorrow’s Challenges” and featured major speakers and panelists from media’s biggest players including Disney, CBS and FOX.

According to Beal, some of the highlights of the conference included focusing on the important attributes new college graduates should bring with them into the workforce such as:

  • Professional communication skills: "one idea, one sentence"
  • Effectively managing email content and organization
  • Embracing being self-taught and motivated to continually learn

"I will share with our SAEM faculty what I learned at the conference and am incorporating this new knowledge into our courses and curriculum," Beal said.

Also, Beal shared information she gained from the seminar with the Pittsburgh Business Times in the article "CES 2018 roundup: local participants, trends."
